A modern 18-classroom elementary school in Québec City built to LEED Silver standards, with full gymnasium, library, and administrative spaces. The entire on-site installation was completed in just 6 weeks — during the summer break — so students arrived in September to a brand new school.
The Challenge
The school board had a hard deadline: the school had to be operational by the first day of the fall semester. Traditional construction would have required 18–24 months of site work, causing major disruption to students and staff. The budget was also fixed by provincial funding parameters.
Our Solution
Modules were manufactured during the school year while the site was prepared. Over the 8-week summer break, modules were trucked to site and assembled in 6 weeks — leaving 2 weeks for final finishing, inspections, and occupancy certification. Students walked into a completely new school in September.
